I love the library. I love books. I had hoped to pass on a voracious love of reading to my kids...this is free reading time after our trip to the library. You may not be able to see the titles, so let me share with you the literary classics that they selected.

Oldest son is reading "Calvin and Hobbes."
Middler is reading "Walt Disney Comics~Donald Duck's Adventures."
Youngest son is engaged in "Star Wars Comics."

Clearly, I am raising child prodigies. Hope you are all feeling better about what ever your kids are picking out at your library. =)

Thanks for the reminder; I have overdue books at .25 per day. Lord, I love Orange County.

I think it's a boy thing. Mine are so into the star wars comics, and DH has a collection of Calvin & Hobbes. I say reading is reading. it's all good.

Ha! My son rarely picks books out at the library anymore. I guess it could be because our house is completely full of books. ;) And my girls always want Cinderella even though they have a copy.

We love the library too. I want my kids to love reading as much as I do. My 9 yr old loves the Disney Comics too. Uncle Scrooge ones are his favorite.

I found you through Twitter (Kristen/We are THAT Family)- love your user name!

My husband grew up as an insanely addicted comic read, and he says he owes his enormous vocabulary directly to comics. It depends on the particular comic, or course.

If you google the reading levels of different genre of literature, "graphic novels" usually come out quite high on the scale, believe it or not.

So all is not lost!
